    Syllabus of Jharkhand Assistant Public Prosecution Officer Examination.
    It is a two stage examination:

    (1) Preliminary Exam (Objective Type)
    (2) Main Exam (Written Type and Interviews/ Viva-voce)

    Preliminary Examination

    It consists of two papers:

    Paper I- (100 Marks) (2 Hours)

    General Knowledge (Consists of General Studies questions related to National & International events, Indian History, Geography, Indian Economy, Indian Politics and General Science. Also questions related to Modern Historical Facts, Geography, Economy & Culture of Jharkhand State)

    Paper II- (200 Marks) (2 Hours)

    • The Indian Penal Code 1860,
    • The Criminal Procedure Code 1973,
    • The Indian Evidence Act 1870,
    • The Constitution of India 

    Main Exam ( Written Exam)

     Compulsory language paper

    There will be a compulsory language paper of 100 marks out of 9 regional languages prescribed by the government of Jharkhand. 
    These nine  languages are - 
    1. Santali language and literature
    2. Mundari language and literature
    3. Khariya language and literature
    4. Ho language and literature
    5. Kudukh language and literature
    6. Nagpuri language and literature
    7. Kurmali language and literature
    8. Khortha language and literature
    9. Pachparganiya language and literature
    This paper is of qualifying nature. The marks obtained in this paper will not be added in merit.
    Candidate has to secure a minimum percentage category wise as follows-

    General category- 40%
    Backward classes -36.5 %
    Backward classes ( annexure 1) - 34 %
    SC/ST/Woman - 32 %

    (100 Marks) (3 Hours) (Not added in mains Merit)

    General Hindi (qualifying 30%)

    Paper II

    (100 Marks) (3 Hours) (Not Added in mains Merit)

    English (Qualifying 30%)

    Paper III

    (100 Marks) (3 Hours) Essay

    There will be two section of Essay Paper section 1 will be of law topic of 50 marks
    section two will of general topic of essay it will be of 50 marks.

    Paper IV

    General Studies (100 Marks) (3 Hours)
    • National and International Currents affairs - 10 marks
    • Modern History of India - 10 marks
    • Geography - 10 marks
    • Indian Economy 10 marks
    • General Science -10 marks
    • Indian Polity-10 marks
    • Legal Terms ( with explanations)- 25 Marks
    • Jharkhand Specially from Modern history,Geography,Economy and Culture- 15 marks

    (Criminal Procedure 125 marks and Evidence 75 marks)

    Paper VI

    (200 Marks) (3 Hours)
    Indian Penal Code

    Indian Constitutional Law

    GROUP 'A'- 80 Marks

    • ‎The Forest Act 1927, 
    • The‎Arms Act 1959, 
    • The Explosive Substance Act, 1908,  
    • ‎The Criminal Law Amendment Act 1908,
    • The Unlawful Activities (Prevention Act 1967),
    • The Motor Vehicle Act, 1988,
    • The Prevention of witch (Dain) Practices Act   1999

    GROUP 'B'- 60 Marks

    • The Electricity Act, 2003, 
    • The Information Technology Act, 2000, 
    • The Prevention of corruption Act 1988 
    • The Bihar/ Jharkhand Prevention of specified corruption Act, 1983, 
    • The Prevention of Food Adulteration Act, 1954

    GROUP 'C'- 60 Marks

    • The Essential Commodities Act, 1955, 
    • The Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961,
    •  The Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989,
    • The Juvenile Justice  (Care and protection of Children) Act, 2000)

    Personality Test (Interview) (50 Marks)

    The suitability of the candidate shall be assessed with reference to his capacity, character, personality and physical fitness. The marks obtained in written exam will be added to that obtained in Personality Test to consider the place of the candidate.
